WHO IS THE TEACHER?
Laufey Ósk Jóns
I am a Quantitative Specialist, with a passion for people. I love researching and understanding different people, both with qualitative and quantitative methods.
Another passion of mine is helping people understand the many nuances of statistics, which is exactly why I created this website.
Education
M.Sc. in Quantitative Psychology
University of Iceland 2023-2025
Took part in standardizing a new Icelandic translation of the PHQ-9 depression scale. Finished 11 statistics courses, including methods for latent variables and machine learning.
B.Sc. in Psychology
University of Iceland 2020-2023
Finished courses including social-, developmental-, and queer psychology. My thesis was on the mental health of minorities, where my research partner and I designed and performed all of the research steps.
Advanced Degree in Classical Singing
Reykjavík Singing Academy 2018-2025
Finished an advanced degree (ísl. framhaldspróf) in classical singing and vocal performance.

Personal Counselor for Kids with Social Challenges
Hafnarfjarðarbær 2022-2025
Provided one-on-one support for kids and teens with social challenges, fostering positive interactions and helped engage them socially. (Frog, photographed in a session with one of my clients and published with their permission)

Several workplaces 2020-2024
Worked as a support worker in care homes for disabled people and elderly people, and as a support worker for disabled people living on their own.

I am a founding member of the choir, and with them I took part in premiering up to 50 new Icelandic pieces.
Graduale Nobili
2019-2025
Recorded the album Vökuró, took part in a production of The Nutcracker, and sang at various events for the Icelandic Parliament.
The Hamrahlíð Choir
2018-2025
Participated in various projects of the choir, including the filming of the Cornucopia film and concert with Björk in Lissabon, and recording of the album Come and Be Joyful.
